Cricket World Cup 2011 and Pakistan cricket team

pakistan in world cup 2011
Cricket World Cup 2011 and Preparations of Pakistan cricket team :- This is a fact that Pakistan cricket team is not fully prepared for the ICC World Cup going to be start on 19 February. The conditions of India are much similar to Pakistani conditions. In this regard Pakistani cricket team will not have to face much challenge. Pakistan is in group A where the green shirts will play matches against Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya. Australia. Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya are considered as week teams and Pakistan and it be not a challenge for Pakistan to defeat these teams. The real challenge for the Pakistani cricket team in the World Cup first round matches, e.g., league matches is to play matches against Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. The performance of Australia was not well in last couple of series. On the other hand New Zealand is also failed to give good performance against Bangladesh and India and they also lost these series with heavy margin. The morale of both teams New Zealand and Australia is not so much high. Sri Lankan team is playing series against West Indies this time. The series between Pakistan and New Zealand going to be start from this month will be very important for both teams. This is the last series for the both teams before the World Cup and both the teams can prepare themselves for the World Cup. This is a long series in which both teams will play 3 T20s, 2 tests and 6 ODIs against each other.
On the other hand Pakistan team is facing different problems like match fixing scandal, Zulqarnin case, and unavailability of players like Muhammad Aamir, Muhammad Asif and Sulman Butt, in the current playing series and it seems that all three players will not be clarify from ICC before World Cup in this case Pakistan team will go into more difficulties.
On Friday December 3, talking to media the captain of Pakistan cricket team Shahid Khan Afridi accepted that Pakistani cricket team is not fully prepared for the World Cup. The skipper said Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik are very senior players of the team and they should not be dropped for the New Zealand tour and he don’t know about the reasons of dropping both these players from the team and this question should be asked to the selectors and PCB. Former spinner Abdul Qadir and Rameez Raja agree with the Afridi’s statement.
In despite to all these reasons we should hope that Pakistan cricket team will give their best performance in the series against New Zealand and in World Cup and will give the happiness to the nation again. inshaAllah.
